美国贸易代表葛里尔（JamiesonGreer）4日表示，美中贸易规模“可能需要缩小”，以降低双方过度依赖风险，并强调美国与中国贸易往来必须回到更平衡状态。他指出，美中货物贸易量已缩减约25%，“朝正确方向前进”，反映川普政府推动政策正发挥效果。

葛里尔在华府举行的“美国成长高峰会”中说，美国并不寻求与中国大陆爆发全面经济冲突，但双方依赖程度需降低，尤其贸易往来应集中在“非敏感商品”上。

他强调，川普第二任期以来的调整，使目前情势“比他上任初期更好”。

他表示，美国对中国拥有多种政策工具，包括软件、半导体等，许多盟友也有意采取协同行动，共同因应中国在科技与市场的影响力。但他补充，当前美方首要目标仍是“维持关系稳定”，并持续密切监控情势发展。
