Based on the user-pays principle, Taiwan’s major carriers — including China Airlines, EVA Airways, Starlux Airlines and Tigerair Taiwan — all levy booking service fees as part of ticket purchases.China Airlines raised its booking service fee in March and again in July, while EVA on June 30 announced that its fee would increase to US$33, beginning Aug. 1Starlux Airlines on Monday also announced that its booking service fee would be raised to US$33 starting on Oct. 7, following a fee adjustment announced in April.Tigerair Taiwan, the nation’s only low-cost carrier, this month raised its service fee from NT$300 per flight segment to NT$350 during the off-peak season, while its peak-season fee was increased from NT$400 to NT$450.新聞來源:TAIPEI TIMES
